 The Girona Sports rider package is our road tour aimed at more serious riders and although is not a true training programme it is designed to help with training as well as see some of the area and enjoy the best roads around.
Girona is a famous and popular training location for many pro road riders and the idea behind this tour is to provide a slice of their unique and enviable lifestyle. With this in mind you will stay in a fantastic hotel in the heart of the city, then ride some of their most famous rides, used by the teams to train. You will be provided with written instructions and maps for the routes each with a forward from some of the pro´s who use them giving an insight into why they love them so much.
And lastly a chance to enjoy some of the fantastic eating and drinking possible in Girona, another thing the riders like to do.

Day 1 Arrival in Girona. Welcome meeting and bike fitting.
Day 2 Route: Sant Hilari Sacalm

Difficulty: Hard Length: 105 km Description: Day one on the bike is an epic 100km loop made famous by many of the pro teams who use this route to train, including the Garmin-Slipstream team. Riders climb to over 1000m via a 28km climb to the mountain town of Sant Hilari Sacalm, through the Guilleries mountains, a centre for natural spring water healing popular in the 18th and 19thcenturies. This route passes one of the largest spring water healing centres in the world, disused for over 100 years and now a museum, just outside the village of Osor high in the spectacular rugged Guilleries.
Day 3 Route: Rocacorba

Difficulty: Hard Length: 75 km Description: This ride again follows the route of a well used but not so well-known training ride of the pros. The ride climbs the 1000m mountain of Rocacorba, one of the tallest mountains in Girona county with panoramic views of the whole region. The climb follows a newly surfaced road and the location of a tough time trial climb up the mountain with a more or less continuous 15% gradient. Riders will return to Girona via the lake side town of Banyoles.
Day 4 Route: Les Gavarres

Difficulty: Medium Length: 60 km Description: For the last day of the tour riders cross over the Les Gavarres mountain range.... twice! Following the famous road over Els Angels where some of the finest twisty mountain roads are to be found. Les Gavarres mountains boast some of the finest cycling roads in the world and are well known by riders worldwide. The ride for this last day on the bike has two climbs and of course two descents. Visiting the mountain top monastery of Els Angels before descending to the fabulous stone village of Madremanya in the county of Empordà. Then after passing the equally lovely village of Monells with its famous vaulted main square, riders again cross the Gavarres mountain range to the town of Cassà de la Selva before returning to Girona.
