A perfect location for training and leisure riding with much more than just fantastic roads. Girona is a gastronomic centre, a buzzing Cathedral city with a lively coffee culture, plenty to do off the bike.
Girona airport is a Ryanair hub which means you can fly to Girona from almost everywhere in the UK and mainland Europe for next to nothing. The Girona Cycle Centre offers Cannondale full carbon rental bikes which are much cheaper to rent than taking your own bike on a risky journey, it couldn’t be more simple…….
Bike Breaks offers an amazing weekend of road riding with two days of guided riding from the incredible bike crazy town. A perfect weekend mini break allowing you to escape the gloom and blast the training roads of the pros. Test your fitness on some challenging climbs and your bike handling on some twisty downhills. With many rides possible from Girona we have many options for rides ranging from 50 to 100km of varied degrees of difficulty.

Guided day 1 Route: Les Gavarres
Difficulty: Medium Length: 60 km Accumulated climb: 1000m Description: For the first day of the tour riders cross over the Les Gavarres mountain range.... twice! Following the famous road over Els Angels where some of the finest twisty mountain roads are to be found. Les Gavarres mountains boast some of the finest cycling roads in the world and are well-known by riders worldwide. The ride for day one has two climbs and of course two descents. Visiting the mountain top monastery of Els Angels before descending to the fabulous stone village of Madremanya in the county of Empordà. Then after passing the equally lovely village of Monells with its famous vaulted main square riders again cross the Gavarres mountain range to the town of Cassà de la Selva before returning to Girona.
Guided day 2 Route: Sant Hilari Sacalm
Difficulty: Hard Length: 105km Accumulated climb: 2500m Description: Day two on the bike is an epic 105km loop made famous by many of the pro teams who use this route to train, including the Garmin-slipstream team. Riders climb to over 1000m via a 26km climb to the mountain town of Sant Hilari Sacalm, through the Guilleries mountains, a centre for natural spring water healing, popular in the 18th and 19th centuries. This route passes one of the largest spring water healing centers in the world, disused for over 100 years and now a museum, just outside the village of Osor, high in the spectacular rugged Guilleries. Miles of incredible quiet smooth roads through forested mountains.
